大家好！我的名字叫谭度，是一名来自越南的留学生。目前在林德纳商学院的运营管理专业读大三。辛辛那提大学为我提供了极好的学习环境和友好的生活氛围，让我在个人和专业方面都有很大提高。我在校园里有很多志同道合的朋友，让我感到非常温馨，同时能身处辛辛那提这个大家庭，也令我十分兴奋。在这里，我既有十分要好的本地美国朋友，也有其他国家的留学生朋友。作为一名留学生，意味着我会在很长一段时间里远离家乡。然而，我在辛辛那提的朋友给了我很多的动力和支持。

最近，我在新加坡参加了一个暑期带薪实习的工作。这种国际的专业从业经验让我更加成熟，并提升了自身的技能。新加坡是一个有活力、同时竞争亦十分激烈的国家。因此，在这种环境中工作，我需要提高效率并不断学习自身领域的相关知识。在新加坡，我实习的单位是ABB集团。ABB集团是一家专注于提供适用于重工业领域的技术系统的跨国公司，这份工作让我有机会学到很多运营知识和系统的工作方法，并深入学习了库存管理以及如何更好地管理库存。

除增长了工作经验之外，在东南亚和澳大利亚的旅行也让我获得了丰富的体验。我有机会和朋友一同旅行，并认识了一些独自旅行或和家人一起旅行的新朋友。参加了很多活动，认识了来自南加州大学、德克萨斯大学奥斯汀分校以及乔治梅森大学的朋友，获得了很多乐趣。这些学生也在新加坡实习，我们像小组一样一同出行。对我来说这是一个收获颇丰的夏天。

除了大一的新生，我真诚地建议每个人都体验一次国际交流学习。因为你可以有机会走出自己的“舒适区”，去探索并发现世界，人群和你自己！

诚然，这类经历是需要一些花费的，或许会令你对这类经历产生质疑。但是你可以争取新生奖学金和国际学生奖学金。如果你是荣誉学生，对任何国际交流学习（带薪实习或出境学习）都会自动获得额外1,500美元。这些足够你游学的花费并且还有一些剩余可以来到处走走。别忘了，有些公司会支付你“实习津贴”，因此不必太过担心你的生活花销。

总的来说，这是我觉得最棒的一个夏天，也是我最开心的夏天。我有一些精彩的故事可以讲给朋友们听，还在声誉最高的公司之一ABB集团学到了宝贵的工作经验。虽然很多事并不一定要用现在这样的方式来做，但是我选择这样做。为什么？当你开始自己的学习经历时，就会知道答案了。

Hi, my name is Tan Do. I am an international students from Vietnam. I am currently a junior majoring in Operations Management at Lindner College of Business. University of Cincinnati provide great learning environment and a friendly atmosphere for me to develop personally and professionally. I have great friends and many connections on campus, I feel welcomed and thrilled to be part of this fantastic community. I have great American friends as well as international friends. Being an international student means that I have to be away from home for a long time. However, my friends at UC have given me a lot of motivation and support.

I recently did a summer co-op in Singapore. This international professional experience has helped me to be more matured and developed my skills. Singapore is an active and very competitive market. Therefore, working in highly demand environment allows me to be more productive and gaining more useful knowledge to my field of study. I worked for ABB Singapore. ABB is a multinational company specializing in technologies system applicable for heavy industries. I had a chance to learn a lot about operations and working in general. I learned about inventory management in depth and solutions to better manage inventory.

However, apart from working experience, I’ve gained a lot of connections and experienced travel in South East Asia and Australia. I had a chance to meet new friends and have a chance to travel with friends, individually or with family. It's been an astounding summer where I participated in a lot of activities. I have a lot of fun and make new friends from different school such as: USC, UT-Austin and GMU. These students were also doing internship in Singapore and we all hang out together as a big group.

I would recommend everyone after Freshman year to participate in one of the international professional experience or study abroad, where you have a chance to get out of your comfort zone and explore the world, people and yourself!!!

Since, there's a fee for this experience, some of you might hesitate to participate. However, you can earn Freeman Scholarship and International Abroad Scholarship. If you are Honors student, you will automatically earn extra $1,500 for any international experience (co-op or study abroad). All of this will completely subsidize your cost for the trip and you have extra hundred bucks for the trip! Don't forget, some company will pay you under "Intern Allowance" so don't worry about living cost.

To sum up, this is one of the best and my favorite summer. I had several great stories to tell my friends and I also gained invaluable working experience at one of the most reputable company! There are things that I could have done differently but I won't, why? You will know when you embark on your own experience.
